Bob Costas and gun control? Wow, Are you kidding?!

There is an agenda to circumvent the current right to bear arms with every tragedy that is publicized in the media, it is used to erode our thinking on the subject matter.  Guns don't kill people; people kill people with guns...  The fact that they are allowed to get in the hands of young people and are used irresponsibly by a few is not a reason to cause the entire population to suffer and take away guns.  Tighter constraints, thorough background checks and qualifications (e.g. going through lessons on how to use a gun and state tests) etc...  is a much more sensible approach.

In addition, the reasoning that guns can't protect us from a government that is equipped with stealth bombers, drones, tanks and nuclear weapons is also a weak and contrived argument.  This is not to diminish the immense tragedies that have and will occur.  Are these incidents more prevalent or are they just more in our faces because of a relentless media blitz.  It possibly may be a blend of both due to increased population numbers and a more intense and technological era for media being in our faces virtually 24/7.

I do not own a gun, though, as based in the constitution I appreciate my right to own one if I so choose.  The current somewhat prevailing mindset of gun control can be likened to the same thing that happened with discipline and our children in a time not so long ago.  People and parents abused and crossed the line when it came to discipline and the broad stroke laws came out prohibiting many forms of discipline.  This has resulted in many parents having NO control over their children when it comes to setting boundaries.  In many households I've been in and in many malls I've frequented there are an increasing number of parents that absolutely have no control over their children and there is an undeniable lack of respect, manners, and responsible behavior.  My point here is, instead of making the entire population suffer for the irresponsible behavior of a few, take strides to address individual situations with the individuals that are running a muck and committing such irresponsible acts.

I am not an outright liberal and I am not an outright conservative as many of you can tell by many of my posts on Facebook.  I don't fall under any one umbrella and that means that I am an independent and critical thinker who doesn't buy into one ideology just because those parameters are set for me.  This idea that you have to be one thing and not the other and can't be anything in between is part of the bigger problem.  That problem is the continuing and increasing separation in our population through government and the media via issues such as race, sex, political affiliation, sexual persuasion and religious or spiritual affiliation.  AS IF we need anything else to keep us separate from one another.

I'm not necessarily for guns or against them.  I can see both sides and the merit of both sides.  All I would ask is to take the time with out having knee jerk reactions and really think about the issues of guns.  Before you make a decision on how you feel (Again, I'm NOT trying to diminish the tragedy of recent events with guns we all have heard and know about) check the links out and do much of your own research to see both sides and opposing views on guns and expose your self without emotion attached to your thoughts.  That may be difficult but in order to be objective and neutral while taking in information it's necessary to put the emotion aside so as to see the logic and reasoning of both sides of this argument.

Below, I've placed two links of opposing views.

Transhumanism: Do we need to be made better?

Transhumanism is an international intellectual and cultural movement supporting the use of science and technology to improve human mental and physical characteristics and capacities. ...

IS improvement ALWAYS better in the grand scheme of things? Do we REALLY want lenses in our eyes that can be used for receiving and sending text and who knows what else?!  It's interesting in our culture how we're made comfortable with ideas and concepts that dig further and further into our humanity...

In a day and age where there are constant technological advancements that most certainly, at least in some fashion, make our lives more convenient, a question arises.  Is it something that is necessary and needed for us to realize our full potential?  There are many who would answer that question with an unequivocal YES, without really fully thinking about how they arrived at that answer.  Sure, on the surface it seems that most certainly any technological advancement that adds convenience to our lives would be something that we should desire and embrace.  Ah, but when we delve a little deeper and look at some of the consequences of convenience , we can reasonably determine that EVERYTHING being absolutely convenient (immediate gratification) isn't always the best thing for us.  Just because we like something doesn't always mean it's good for us.

I am posing the questions, general statements and some specific statements on this subject to give cause for us to think critically about how utterly and quickly our tech and society is advancing in some areas.  In addition to that, I also want to bring to the attention of those who are willing to read this, that there is distinct decline in our social and interpersonal encounters and relationships even with all the convenience we experience these days in 2012..  We see it in many ways every day through our social networks, texting, no cashier grocery checkouts, automated phone systems with no real person on the other end of the line, etc...  I could go on but just those few I mentioned are integral in the decline in human contact.

OK, while some of this may seem like the ramblings of an older guy who is complaining that the world is not how he remembers it in times not so long ago, consider this...  I have a computer that is very well configured, a cell phone, an LCD LED T.V. with/remote, a hi tech infrared space heater etc...  So, I'm not living in the dark ages and this message isn't coming from someone who is totally adverse to the ideas of technological advancement.  However, transhumanism is, at least somewhat, an entirely whole other subject that encompasses many, many different aspects of technology.  Technology such as biotechnology, neural engineering, bionics (What's that you say?! LOL), cloning, nanotechnology, augmented reality (reference in a link below for Wikipedia) etc...

What are the ultimate ramifications or consequences to all of this transhumanism by people and businesses that are growing at an almost exponential rate?  I'm sure none of us can say for sure but there is a resounding message by some that we should be using relative caution and not just run with this.

Do we need a better human being?  IS that the answer to our world's problems or are we missing something that is and has been in us all along?  Can we not experience to the fullest without some of this technology?  Have we somewhat lost that aspect of ourselves already?  We are constantly bombarded through the media with news, commercials, biased documentaries and marketing schemes that suggest these things will make our lives and us better.  There are so many things that we are told we just HAVE to HAVE and that our lives will be less without them.  It's really a personal decision and this little piece, if for anything, is to encourage us to look at what it is we're really doing.  The tech should truly be serving US; not the other way around.

In closing, I'd like to say that I embrace technology of all sorts.  I personally find it just as easy, inviting and fulfilling to do some things in what some would call the old fashioned way.  My feelings and attitudes about this upcoming new world we'll be experiencing may be just mine.  Hopefully the men, women and businesses will temper their drive for technological improvement and profit with, at least, a touch of humanity and think about the possible consequences that could occur...

There are many links, videos, and articles one can read on this subject and I've provided a few of them below.

Way too Early for Christmas Music

This is what I posted as a comment in response to a comment on Facebook by WKYC Channel 3 Broadcasting Company:

It's too dang early for Christmas music for crying out loud!!! Good God people, can't we let things happen in their own time anymore without pushing it because of the retail madness. Heck, the Christmas stuff was out even before the Halloween candy and decorations were. What does that say about us and this nation. Unbelievable! Christmas isn't about shopping, it's about what we SHOULD be doing ALL year long; not just on one day and/or one season because we feel more compelled to. It's showing love to our fellow women and men and boys and girls because it's the right thing to do and we might realize some world peace once we REALLY TRULY realize some individual peace. Wake up and quit being part of this construct that feeds materialism, consumerism, debt and the mass retail markets. Also, and PLEASE, support your local businesses instead of the the big corporate guys. Boycott Wal-Mart, Target, and the other big department stores. Local business and the small business owner is where it's truly at and what this country was built on. The sad thing is we are a consumer and credit driven nation now. We produce virtually nothing and pay for virtually nothing up front. Everyone knows when the producers name the tune; the consumers have got to dance. I'm just sayin... Get a grip CHANNEL 3 and people and use more critical thinking on things in our lives instead of acting like mindless zombies... By the way, I said that with love. Peace and blessings!

Two Truths Can Exist in the Same Space

I've heard this said by many people, including my brother, and have often thought it myself.  We've got to lose this idea that two truths can't exist in the same space.  It doesn't have to be an either or, or this or that, or whatever.  We have the power of choice in many things in this life including on how we think about things.

So many times, we think about things the way we do because of attitudes we've developed over time through experience, and yes, through indoctrination or dare I say, brain washing techniques.  If you think you aren't subject to brainwashing or mind control, think again; we all are.

Just for an example let's take these two truths.  We are both male and female like the yin and the yang working together to be one thing in us as human beings.  This is an axiomatic truth or truths that can be readily accepted when we think about it.  If something like this can be true and exist in the same space, why can't other things as well.  The truth is (there is that "T" word again) that they can and do whether we perceive this to be true or not.  It's only our perception that causes it to be otherwise; not because it can't be.

So, in moving it along, isn't it true that we can virtually, invariably find a virtual myriad of things to disagree upon based on our history of experiences in this life.  We get into a mode of solely relying on those experiences as if things, events, and/or people never change.  Of course this isn't possible as change is the only true constant in this universe.  So, in that vein, let's explore why we choose to buy into the idea of two truths not being able to exist in one space as it were.

Our abilities are immense and vast in terms of what we have and will be able to accomplish and yet we all fall into the proverbial rut of thinking inside the box.  I use the box term, even though it sounds cliche' because it's a perfect example of the limitations we put ourselves inside.  We are so good at fighting the box and doing the same thing over and over based on those ideas and concepts in that box; aren't we?!  We have such opportunity by thinking and yes, feeling outside that proverbial box and yet, we so many times choose not to.  Why you say?  Because, it's comfortable to do it.  Yes, it's comfortable to be in that box all safe and secure never really having to think it out because we have some information or so called wisdom we've gained through our experiences in this life.  Why not lets use this grand opportunity of thinking outside the box to get at new thoughts, ideas, and concepts that will allow us to consider and expand our idea of truth and our belief systems.  Maybe, just maybe, it can be the instrumental tool that will give us the means, the desire, the will, and the cause to look at things differently and, in turn, the ability to get along with one another better.

While I am not a Buddhist, I do buy into one of the concepts of that spirituality and that is acceptance of all things.  The good, the bad, the in between and everybody and everything that goes with it are in our world. That is something that we must accept because it is one reality in terms of this existence.  With that in mind, and what I mentioned in the previous paragraph in this written piece, I think we have the opportunity to change our thinking, our perceptions, and transform our state of consciousness into something much more peaceful and loving in this world.

It doesn't always have to be I'm right, your wrong and never the twain shall meet.  We are gifted a grand diversity in our people, nature, and all creations on this planet and have the ability within our divine nature to see things differently.  Let's make a conscious decision to accept what is in this life and know we are here and all part of a much bigger thing that connects us.  Call it God or whatever but this connection has been proved mathematically in a formula called the Mandelbrot Set that was given to us by the late Dr. Mandelbrot.  It's in every single thing in this universe; dust, humans, plants, animals, inanimate objects and literally anything any of us can think of.  It's really all very exciting if you take a moment and think about it.

My dream is to see us all respecting one another and transcending this societal paradigm that has been constructed for us by a very few men that have ruled for literally thousands of years.  We will only change our world when we change ourselves and it's gonna take a perception shift and a getting outside our little, comfortable boxes to see the many truths and many dimensions we have within ourselves.

It really is all about humanity and our greed blinds us to this.  Our egos get in the way almost constantly but if we can identify those moments and be really honest with ourselves, about ourselves, we can make a start in making this a better world for all of us.  Each moment and each situation is an opportunity to transcend conventional wisdom and say I'm going to embrace this existence and show these other people I encounter on a daily basis compassion and love regardless if they agree with me or not.

We are really all part of one another and when we love or hate we are doing it not just to those around us or the one thing, we are doing it to ourselves.  We get what we put out and we can make all of our lives a little bit better by treating others as we'd like to be treated.

I don't know why I felt compelled to write this and I'm just sharing a little here.  The Eastern Indians have a term and it is Namaste.  It means:  I honor the place in you where spirit lives...  I honor the place in you which is of love, truth, light, and peace...  When you are in that place in you and I am in that place in me, then we are ONE!

Libya Denounces Acts of Terrorism

You're always gonna have a divide in people and government but the protests don't necessarily dictate the consensus... They also have a way of filming things to make it look like there are mass protests when they are really very isolated... One fact people are forgetting is that, at least, many of the people in Libya denounce the actions that killed this U.S. Ambassador. We really have to wait and see how this thing plays out because this knee jerk reaction and ideology that America has to police the world and be involved in every single conflict (things that can be handled diplomatically and investigated) is a fallacy... I'm not saying this particular set of circumstances is unequivocally a staged or false flag event but there are STILL MANY unanswered questions. So, the idea of going in with guns blazing and having a huge military presence over there is truly overkill at this point. Our boys and girls, men and women are dying in senseless wars that are simply NOT about our freedom and these wars are kept going because they line the pockets of the corporatism that comprises the Military Industrial Complex. What I'm saying is we don't KNOW who allowed what to happen and to have a reaction prematurely can be an even worse disaster then if we take the time to investigate this and look at it for what it really is. Jumping to conclusions is how even more people can die.  It's difficult for any country in the middle east to be friends with our government (Let's face it, the people of America ARE NOT our government) when our government sends billions of dollars in aide, supports, and enables Israel to continue the illicit, criminal, behavior of oppressing the Palestinians and many others around them. This is all under the guise that their occupied territory is Holy Land. Israel again is a fake state and this has everything to do with relations involving our government and any country in the middle east. Libyans denounce acts of terrorism:
In a show of solidarity, demonstrators gathered in Libya on Sept. 12 to condemn the killers, and voice support for the U.S. with signs apologizing for the recent atrocities. Ambassador Christopher Stevens and three embassy staff were killed in the attack on the Benghazi consulate and a safe house refuge, stormed by Islamist gunmen blaming America for a film they said insulted the Prophet Mohammad.

11th Anniversary of 9/11

So it is the 11th Anniversary of the 9/11 event that caused so many lives to be affected directly and indirectly here in this country and around the world.  This event that was used, in the wake of the aftermath that shook this nation to it's core, to drive our perceptions and slowly but surely begin the journey to start taking our rights away...  Orchestrated or not, this has been proved to be a staged event and/or at the very least; let to happen.

False flag (also known as black flag) operations are covert operations designed to deceive in such a way that the operations appear as though they are being carried out by other entities. The name is derived from the military concept of flying false colors; that is: flying the flag of a country other than one’s own. False flag operations are not limited to war and counter-insurgency operations and can be used during peace-time.

When will our government and main stream media come clean?  Or as I suspect, will our executive and legislative branches of government continue to take our rights away and tarnish these people's memories in the name of a false war on terror.  A war that, by design, through legislation and promotion of legislation, is used to keep people in fear and even question themselves that they might be subversives or terrorists.  The Patriot Act was just the beginning of this seemingly designed mechanism to slowly but surely erode and take away our rights as citizens of America.  What has taken place over the last 11 years is a willingness to accept a subtle form of marshal law in a trade off for a false sense of security.  Now, there are even words that we either shouldn't or ultimately, can't use in type or verbally over the phone ( The list of words is long indeed:   http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2150281/REVEALED-Hundreds-words-avoid-using-online-dont-want-government-spying-you.html#ixzz1wGnESPyQ) for fear of Home Land Security putting us on a list of names that they feel fall under the small umbrella of the label terrorist...

God bless the men and women that died or had loved ones that died in this beyond tragic event...

Should be Plastered All Over the News

The question is WHY isn't this being broadcast on ALL the major networks at this point in time?!  These two stories I'm about to tell you about are simply not being covered, or at least, not being covered to the extent that they should be.  No, they'd rather cover all the fluff and let you know what Paris Hilton is doing or what the latest fad is or talk about the latest tech or cell phones we can be slaves to and just be good little citizens walking around in a zombie like daze; been DAZED and CONFUSED for so LONG it's not TRUE!

Well the first story that is not being covered is, as some of you may be aware, the Barclay and LIBOR scandal.  LIBOR stands for London Interbank Offered Rate and essentially is a mainstay and controls the rates banks trade at; all 16 of the major banks I might add...  It involves credit card rates, loan rates, returns on retirement plans, and many other things etc...  This has been going since the latter part of June and you may wonder WHY you haven't heard of it by now.  Well, your guess is as good as mine but just off the cuff, and if you know how main stream media works, many times it's not covered because they don't want you to know, all under that guise that it really doesn't affect you.  Nothing could be further from the truth my friends and neighbors, family, brothers and sisters.  This thing is far reaching and has already implicated at least 12 banks and is heading toward the Bank of England.  Understand that the relationship between the Bank of England, the World Banks, and the Federal Reserve Bank here in the U.S. is a VERY strong one and that the Bank of England virtually if not outright (behind the scenes and is really never talked about) dictate to and are over the Word Banks and the Federal Reserve Banks.  Oh yes, lets not forget about the IMF because THEY ARE IN THIS MIX TOO!!!  So, now you have at least some perspective on this.  Take a peak at the links I've placed below and understand this affects the entire WORLD ECONOMY and it is a serious thing; perhaps even more serious than what happened in 2008 and 2009 here in America.

Now that we have that out of the way, the next item is that NO attention other than alternative media is being paid to the virtually all out revolt of the people in Madrid, Spain!  This just happened today our time and yesterday their time the way I understand it.  Apparently the government decided and voted to give the banks a bail out at the EXTREME displeasure of the people.  This is happening all over the world in the EU and the BANKSTERS are literally getting away with it with just slaps on the wrist for, at the very least, their outright criminal behavior.  Oh, you think I'm being too dramatic about it, well, take into consideration that if YOU or I were to get caught doing something in the same vein that these banks have done, only on a smaller scale, we'd be punished to the full letter of the law and WE would be in prison.  You can take that to the bank; excuse my PUN...  LOL  Check out the links below and I've titled the links for your convenience.  Take the time and share these links on Facebook, Youtube, and any other social media account you have.  The main stream media need to be forced into covering these events...  Be aware of how the bank scandal may be being used a misdirect here from other news such as the revolt in Spain or it may even be a set up to plunge the economy.  Not to mention that it may be a false flag to lock down in many countries a state of Marshall Law.  Have a fantastic day no mater where you are, stay informed, and know we are in a period of great change...

Eating This Could Turn Your Gut into a Living Pesticide Factory

In a day an age where more and more people are becoming conscious about what they put into their bodies, GMOs are becoming more and more of a concern; and rightfully so.  Even the scientists that have helped engineer seeds for Monsanto, DuPont and the like, are coming out and saying that, not only would they not feed it to their families, but that these organisms at the DNA level are so unstable, that they are unstable even in the way they are unstable.  Now, what that exactly means in technical terms, I'm not sure; though it doesn't sound like what I or any other human being should be putting in their bodies.  If these corporations are messing with organisms at the DNA level and modifications are being made to the sequence, even from a layman standpoint, that can't be good when these organisms come into contact with human DNA.  This article exposes and talks about one of our staple foods that many of us eat frequently and sometimes even daily; and that is corn.  Take the time to read the article at the link below and get informed.

The Fuck-It Point

Before you go getting all upset about the "F" word being in the title of this blog, understand it is the title of the documentary at the link I've posted below.  Besides, the word fuck is just a word and it is our intent and usage that can lend to it being a bad or good word.  It's just another word folks and I for one am not offended by it and being offended is a choice and I have control over that.

OK, back to the documentary...  There are many, many, many, documentaries that have been put out of late about our world, it's economy, environment, and where we are going or NOT going.  It is about our desire for profit and money and things while not giving a damn about too much else that is the problem.  The rich elite, the few men that control the show in our world, care very little of how having their control affects the rest of us and our world.  This particular documentary is actually done pretty well and is worth the short 42 minutes or so it will take to view it.  It's kind of in your face so get ready and you may hear some expletives in key places.  No matter what you may think of this documentary short, it is a perspective on the lives we are leading in this world share together and give us cause to pause and THINK...

$160 Billion in Damage to Manhattan

No, not in reality.  Though, if what many of us saw on the big screen, in arguably one of the best super heroes movies of the last decade, would have been real; 160 billion would be a close estimate on damage.  We all love it when we see these bigger than life images of our comic book super heroes creating havoc and disaster while saving the the people of earth from the latest arch enemy.  Do we ever  think about or wonder what it would cost to repair all of this spectacular damage if were real?  Of course not, and that is why this little article is so interesting.  It takes something that is absolute fiction and takes into the real world.  Fortunately, CGI technology gives us a way to experience something we probably would never want to experience first hand and enjoy the thrill ride.  A thrill ride is exactly what the Avengers provide audiences this past weekend and earned all of 207.4 million.

Why 720p is Better Than 1080i

This is a useful little piece of information.  Especially since many of the specifications have a tendency to be meaningless to the average consumer.  This is a good video that gives a basic understanding of high definition or HD.  I personally have a 1080p Vizio which functions as my T.V. and my computer monitor. My computer is only 720p capable and I'm hard pressed to tell the difference in 720p and 1080p.  They are both ridiculously clear and I will be getting a blue ray DVD burner eventually.  Until then I'm looking into getting a Sony 1080p up scaling DVD player and will only cost me $40.  So, when you go out shopping for that new flat screen, remember the differences in 1080p, 1080i, and 720p high definition specifications.  It could save you some money.

Coming soon: Waterproof Magnetic Paper?

What will they think of next?  In a world where technologies are being patented and produced at an almost exponential rate, comes a new product that will virtually eliminate water damaged paper.  The applications are almost endless as well.  Think about getting your newspaper, before the Internet fully takes their place, on a stormy day delivered with no plastic bag and still, being dry enough to read with ease.  This is just one of the many ways this product will work for us.  Though, I have one little contention with the product and it's the fact that it's still paper.  In a day and age where everyone is running around screaming the term "GREEN" from every hilltop, metaphorically speaking that is, does cutting down even more trees to make this high tech paper make sense?  Well, I guess we'll just have to wait and see how it all shakes out.  In the meantime, check out the article at the Digg News link below.

Understanding Chronic Pain

This is something that many people either don't understand or choose not to understand.  I live with chronic pain every day ranging from a 3 to a 6 or 7 on a daily basis.  Even chronic pain in lower levels can play havoc with day to day existence.  The mind body connection helps many like myself to think away pain during the day but the culmination of battling throughout the day can have substantial affects.

Check out the link I've provided below and scroll down to the heading "What Chronic Pain Does".  This outlines relatively clearly what chronic pain does.  I deal with this on a daily basis.  I am displaying this for purposes of understanding and not pity.  Though many people in my life just do not understand and do not want even take the time to understand what it is like living with chronic pain.  It impacts every area of my lifestyle including scheduling and commitments.  My chronic pain is because of an illness I was diagnosed with back in 2003 and in some ways I am thankful because it has had a great impact on my perception and thinking about this life and who I am.  I am glad to be alive and will never quit my journey to achieve healing.

Although this link is relatively extensive, there is even more that goes with and is affected by chronic pain.  Understand the people in your lives who have chronic pain are trying to live normal lives.  They are trying, most often times, there best to remain active.  When they can't meet their goals, obligations, or promises kept, it hurts them way more than it hurts the other individual.  It is a constant battle and it's difficult to appreciate what it's like unless you've had first hand experience.

Burger King To Eliminate Cruel Practice By 2017

This really grinds my gears!  Why has this taken so long and why we're we being cruel to the animals that are led to slaughter for eating purposes in the first place.  Oh, and WHY, is it going to take until 2017 to eliminate cruel practices.  What, we can't just decide to to stop being cruel to animals that are part of the food supply on grocery shelves.  The bottom line is that meat has been pushed by the USDA as having to be a part of our diets.  Nothing could be further from the truth and it's a carefully, cleverly, propagated campaign that the USDA has carried out and made huge profits on.  I am glad to see that something is being done, though it's far overdue in my estimation.  I say this because so much damage has already been done and it's not like we didn't know about the wrong that was being done.  There is no blur here between right and wrong and this has been all about the money.  The fact that it's going to take 5 years to implement is a testament to how really sad this situation is.

The EPA and the new Ozone Standard

Not sure how I really feel about all of this.  There has been talk about the depleting ozone layer for, it seems, decades and decades now.  Being a layman, I'm not sure how all of this has affected us on a grand scale.  Suffice it to say, that while this is something that concerns us all, it's certainly not something that crosses our minds often.

There have been many staggering statistics and mathematical calculations coming out of the EPA on the ozone layer and how it affects air quality.  These supporting numbers and statistics, at least in the EPA's eyes are reason enough to cause some alarm.  So much so, that there is a supposed major decision about to be made by the EPA on these issues.  That being said, there are those that are suggesting that possibly "flawed" science is being used to support the EPA's position on the ozone situation.  I guess we'll just have to wait and see what the EPA decides.  The air we breath is certainly an important thing and that in of itself gives us cause to pay attention to this upcoming EPA decision.

14-Year-Old Girl Building A Car For Her Sweet Sixteen

This shows a lot of ambition and drive.  This article delves into the unique passion of a fourteen year old girl that has hands on car restoration experience from twelve years old.  Her Father has been watching her ever since she showed interest.  She used her baby sitting profits to buy an old Fiero and says she'll have it complete by her sixteenth birthday.

In a day and age where many youths feel a sense of entitlement to so many material things strictly based on being born; this young lady is a breath fresh air.  I'm not saying all young people need to figure out how to build their own vehicles, though this young lady is an outstanding example of taking self responsibility. Very interesting and inspiring article.

Evacuated Tube Transport: Around the World in Just Six Hours?

How really viable this tube would be is up for debate.  Though the concept did grab my attention while surfing the net and checking out different news sites.  On the surface it is at leas intriguing to think about being able to go around the world in just six hours.  The main idea is to cut the time and cut building costs as it compares to high speed trains.  I have often wondered why the U.S. hasn't adopted a high speed train system up until now.  This tube transport alternative may be worth seriously considering once some more in depth studies are done.  Truthfully, and just like the one commercial back in 2000 or 2001, I was promised flying cars!  Where are all the flying cars?  I want my flying cars!  LOL  Enjoy video at the link below

Should we be Anti Anti-Depressants?

In a world where high stress, fast paced, are the name of the game in both business and the society we live in daily, more and more people are turning to anti-depressants and anti-anxiety medications.  We live in an era where we think a pill can fix everything; including giving us happiness.  So, often time, these magic pills are referred to as "Happy Pills" and we forget that pills only fix symptoms; not the route problem.  With this being said, there is another more serious problem afoot with these psychotropic drugs that are being pushed by the huge pharmaceutical industry.  Take the time and check out the link I've provided below.  There is a video and article to get this information.

Millions against Monsanto

Millions against Monsanto is part of the grass roots effort in the biggest food fight of all time.  They are fighting against GMO food that Monsanto and others are putting into our super market and places we buy are foods.  If you think this doesn't affect all of us; think again.  We are in a time now when soy, corn, sugar beets, etc... and the products that are made from these are almost entirely GMO.  The science of GMO food shows that GMOs are even unstable in the way they are unstable.  The second link will give some insight into the science of GMO foods and why they should be banned.  The first link is to an article at the Organic Consumer's Association.  Take the time to read and get informed.  There are many, many, other sources to get information from just buy using a search engine with key words GMO, GMO food, GMO seeds, and ban GMO food.

Monsanto Threatening Law Suit on State of Vermont

This is the kind of thing that makes my blood boil and it's a perfect example of how corporations are running the show in this country and around the world.  Just when a state, namely Vermont, and it's constituents take it upon themselves to exercise freedom of choice through a bill (H-722) requiring labeling for GMO foods, along comes the main culprit corporation Monsanto throwing it's weight around.  Apparently Monsanto thinks this is illegal and is going to challenge the bill by suing the state of Vermont if the bill passes.

This is exactly the kind of thing that has people in an uproar.  This is the same corporation that, through the U.S Government, is using military style trade practices in forcing GMO food on France and possibly the entire European Union via the U.S. Ambassador to France.  The European Union has refused GMO seeds and foods for quite some time now and is currently in the midst of a battle to keep GMO food out.  How in the world is this possible for a corporation to affect international policy through the U.S. Government on another country and possibly an entire continent?

Well, it seems the State of Vermont has it's proverbial hands full with the likes of Monsanto.  The link I've left below will give more details on this sad but true situation.

The "Massive Con" Causing a Suicide Every 30 Minutes

I won't be long on this one.  I just want to bring attention AGAIN to the tragedies that GMO seed are bringing to places around the world.  This short piece explores how the Military Industrial Complex through companies like Monsanto and Cargill reek havoc on Countries like India.  Now we actually have farmers in India committing suicide over the introduction of GMO seed to this country.  This is an aspect of GMO seed and food I did not know was occurring.  The science is showing that GMOs are unstable and they are even unstable in the way that they are unstable.  Please take the time and go to the two links below.

The Economy, Good or Bad? That is the Question

OK, we know the recent statistics say that the unemployment rate is somewhere around 8.36%.  Though, there are many, many sources that give a much bleaker picture of somewhere above 20 percent.  I'd be inclined to agree with the latter because there are aspects that of this statistic that aren't considered when coming up with this skewed number.  Here they are.  This statistic doesn't take into account folks that have just gotten laid off and haven't applied for unemployment benefits or who have applied for benefits and haven't been approved yet.  It also doesn't take into account the people that have exhausted their benefits and who still aren't working.  The other issue, some of whom may think doesn't matter, is that this statistic counts part time workers and even full time workers with no benefits as being fully and gainfully employed.  This in my estimation does not constitute full time employment of the kind that the American people should be able to engage in.  I mean lets face it, with the Federal Reserve creating money out of thin are in a fractional reserve system, we have a currency that has debt attached to it from it's initial printing.  Then when the IRS charges a tax on wages and salary which it calls income, we have a twisting of the definition of what income really is.  Income was always defined as profits made by a corporation.  Wages and salary were never meant to be taxed in this way; or at least not federally.  This puts anyone who is working presently, in a form of servitude, and that is the problem.  Now, all this being said, this article gives an alternative clearer picture of what may really be happening with our economy.  Check it out and see what you think...

Waking Up and the affects on the Main Stream Media

In a day and age where it is becoming increasingly more difficult to get the straight truth, people are turning to alternative media.  There is a wide range of sources available when one considers pod casts, written, audio, and video blogs, online alternative newspaper's, etc... and they aren't owned by media corporate giants.  Let's face it, the main stream media spins the news and creates some drama where there is none or at least very little.  There are misdirects everywhere we look and it is now affecting the ratings of some of the main stream media companies.  The focus of this short piece is on CNN.  It's very interesting to note that with the near economic crash in 2009, various bills and executive orders being passed and signed etc... people are becoming more and more aware of the impact the Internet is having our ability to know the real facts of what is happening in our world.

Heads up, D.C. pedestrians! Better hang up before crossing street

This article caught my eye and it caused me think about why we are so willing to use this electronic contraption called the "Cell phone" no matter WHAT is going on.  I'm sure you all remember the big huge bulky cell phones of the seventies and even eighties of which I've included a link to see below.  In this video it will show the original cell phone and it's Inventor Martin Cooper.  This is when it was a technology that was for the very select few that really were the movers and shakers in the business world.  Convenient, yes, though because of it's mere size it was intrusive in many ways.  Now, we have so many variations of the original product and it's available to the masses.  We have become so dependent in so many ways on these devices and I'd venture to say it's bordering addiction.  This article delves into the fact that so many of us are willing to use these electronic communications devices at any cost.  I realize the convenience factor and I do take advantage of that.  That being said, I am having a difficult time understanding how this little electronic device has infringed on our common sense.  I mean, aren't WE the ones who make the decisions in our everyday lives?  Have we truly relinquished our control to an electronic device.  It's not the devices that are detrimental, it's how and when we use them.  I remember an old adage many older people would tell me when I was young.  "There is a time and place for everything."  Are cell phones excluded from this wise old adage?  We are letting go of wisdom and letting the technology rule how we think and act.  While I don't agree with legislating something that should be common sense, it appears that legislation could take hold in Washington D.C. on how and when cell phones can be used while walking.

A new target for tech patent trolls: cash-strapped American cities

People have been suing over patent violations since the first patent was applied for and accepted.  People or inventors have ideas or inventions and when they want to sell the invention and/or product that came from the idea, they need to protect themselves.  These people or inventors do this by applying for a patent.  Until the patent is approved you will see the invention or product being sold at time with the designation "Patent Pending".  When the entire patent application process is approved, then the product or idea or invention is patented.  If someone tries to use that idea, product, or idea without permission of the patent holder, they are in violation of the patent laws.

Now that the market is virtually flooded with ideas, products, and inventions there has been an increased amount of patent law suits.  Some of them can be borderline frivolous and many think that patent owners will file a law suit over virtually anything.  This link will take you to an article that puts a whole new twist on patent law suits.  Check this story at the Digg news link below.

All red meat is bad for you, new study says

I'm not saying it is; and I'm not saying it isn't.   Though, check out this Harvard study that monitored over 110,000 people over more than a twenty year period.  I cannot tell a lie.  I really, really, like a good burger now and again and a good steak.  Though in recent years having those two items is further and fewer between as I find myself trying to be healthier.  So, is it healthier to not eat red meat or not; that is the question.  According to this study the answer seriously leans towards no.

I suppose like most things we eat, it's a person choice and a matter of taste; no pun intended.  That being said, we are finding out things about food that we've never known before.  It can border on the fanatical when trying to determine just what it is that is good for us and what is bad.  I mean, seriously, it can get to be a science with the calorie counting, reading labels, trying to be more alkaline, and seeing what is acceptable to our palates.  Then there is the issue of cost.  It costs considerably more to eat what is considered to be the "Healthy" diet than it does to do the conventional grocery shopping these days.  We see all the ads, coupons, and commercials that tell us what tastes good and what we should be buying as good consumers.  In this day and age of a virtual myriad of advertising methods to get us to eat what the manufacturers want us to, isn't it time we pay just a little more attention?  Though this particular study is definitely leaning towards denouncing red meat completely, will there be another study that counters this one?  I guess we just have to use a little common sense without getting obsessive about it.

KONY 2012 is a SCAM?!

Even with the video that is made available on YouTube by Invisible Children and the original maker of the film KONY 2012, IT IS, most likely, ALL A SCAM!!! It's all about getting U.S. military advisers in Africa so they can get African resources like COLTAN. If you think that is far fetched, read about COLTAN at the link below and understand it is used in virtually every electronic device we use in our everyday lives as I type this. Also, take a listen to No Agenda with Adam Curry to get the rub on this KONY 2012 thing.  You will have to go to iTunes and subscribe through the pod cast directory and the iTunes store.  Just type in No Agenda Show and hit the subscribe button.  The show about KONY 2012 is dated March 8th, 2012.  This does not mean that children AREN'T being abused and prostituted. Though, it is probably and more likely the official Ugandan government that is behind much of the atrocities that are and have been happening. This has been going on for decades. The U.S. sees the opportunity to seize upon these resources and is using a misdirect with the KONY 2012 video. They play upon our humanity, sympathy, and our heart strings to cause us to miss the bigger picture. If you don't know what PSYOPS is see the fourth and final link below.

March Madness Bracket

Well as we all know, March is an exciting month for basketball as the teams of the NCAA fight it out to see who is the best of the best.  I have no predictions but I always like watching these games during March and they are some of the best college basketball you will see.  Take the time and go check out the link below to see the 2012 bracket for this years tournament.

South Africa Wins Backing for Square Kilometer Array Scope

Yes, you heard it right.  Africa narrowly beat out Australia for the placement of the proposed SKA (Square Kilometer Array) which is a huge radio scope. This is very significant because the placement of this telescope, no matter where it is, is going to give us a glimpse at the beginnings of the universe.  The whole idea of getting a look through science at where this all started is an exciting thing indeed.  I'm sure we'll be hearing news on this as things get constructed and ready for the actual firing up of these huge radio scopes.

John Carter playing at a theater near you

John Carter, a former military Captain is transported to Mars where he encounters a world that is on the brink of collapse.  This looks to be every bit as epic as the previews have indicated.  It's sure to be  a thrill ride and while I'm not a huge fan of 3D, I'm sure it's showing in all the 3D theaters.  So, if your looking for a little break and something to do with the family (The film is rated PG13) this may just fit the bill.  This film is also showing in IMAX 3D, though the tickets will most likely be expensive.  Look for a price around $17 for adults and $13 for the children below the age of twelve.  I for one will be seeing it this weekend and may be posting a review on my experience.

Vatican Website brought down by ANONYMOUS

Well, well, well, Anonymous is at it again!  In case you haven't heard of Anonymous or were wondering who or what Anonymous is, lets look at the Wikipedia answer to this question.  According to Wikipedia, Anonymous is:  (used as a mass noun) is an Internet meme that originated in 2003 on the image board 4chan, representing the concept of many online and offline community users simultaneously existing as an anarchic, digitized global brain. [2] It is also generally considered to be a blanket term for members of certain Internet subcultures, a way to refer to the actions of people in an environment where their actual identities are not known.[3]

Well, the title of my little article is pretty self explanatory in that this group of people, whoever they are, have taken down the Vatican's website.  Instead of telling the story or giving any details myself, I'll just refer you to the link below to The Digg News site and blog.

TSA Scanners One of the Biggest Frauds Going

By now, everyone has at least heard of the billion dollar body scanners TSA has implemented in airports around the country if not the world.  This little video posted on the Digg News site gives an alternative perspective.  It also gives us cause to think again about why we are giving up rights, liberties, and freedoms to have a false sense of security.  Since the Patriot Act was implemented almost immediately after the twin towers fell, there has been a constant trade off going on.  We are consistently being led to believe that we must give up right after right and many of our liberties, including more and more of our privacy, so our government can protect us.  Take a gander and see what you think.

The World According To Monsanto

While this documentary is biased against Monsanto, there is still much truth to consider and learn about from a consumer standpoint.  If scientists involved with the creation of genetically modified organisms won't feed it to their families; why should we?!  That is the REAL questions isn't it?!  Seriously, how are we as consumers who are suppose to trust these corporations and our government suppose to believe that GMO food is safe when they won't feed it to their own families.  Take the time to watch the documentary and conduct some of your own research.

Bill Gates: One of the World's Most Destructive Do-Gooders?

Bill Gates is virtually a household name if only based on his success with Microsoft.  Well, I should say, that and being a multi-billionaire.  Though he has many other areas of interest and just one of are exploring his ability and decisions to make charitable contributions.  This is of course an admirable activity for anyone to be involved in.  Though, based on this article, there are other opinions of Gates endeavors and insights as they relate to his affiliations with the corporation Monsanto.

Take the time and read this informative article, that takes a look at the other side of what Bill Gates is doing, and how it can and is affecting the foods you and I eat.

How Sleeping Can Affect Your Immune System

It's something we do every day and probably take the most for granted.  It's maybe not as vital as eating and getting our daily recommended amounts of nutrition but it is extremely important.  So much so that without it, our bodies can suffer in ways we're not fully aware of.   Sleep isn't just something do to pass the time at the days end so we can wake up and do it all over again.  It is vital for the human body to function properly.  This article by Dr. Mercola gives some insight into how important our sleep really is; especially for our immune systems to function properly.

The Divinity within...

It comes with continuing awareness that I write this little piece.  The awareness that everything is happening as it is suppose to happen.  Acceptance that no matter what, no matter how good, no matter how bad, no matter how happy or sad or any other polarity or duality I can think of; everything is going to be alright.  We all have divinity within us through the undeniable gifts from God.  We have the ability to do greater things than we ever have thought or imagined we could do.  This woman's experience is a testament to that and each day is another chance to show love to ourselves and to all who are around us.  Too many good things in this life despite all the bad being publicized in the main stream news.  Check out the link below of a short glimpse into Anita Moorjani's experience with fighting cancer and her new book:  Dying to B Me

The Keystone Pipeline: Good or Bad?

While I'm not fully aware of all the details of the Keystone Pipeline I do know the essentials of the opposing views.  This article gives some support to the idea that the pipeline would cause increases in prices at the pump instead of decreasing them; whereas proponents state the opposite.  The notion that prices would increase at the pump seems to be gaining somewhat of a consensus based on my recent tooling around the Internet.  I'll have more on this as time goes on and try to monitor the news on this issue.

Maggie's Vegan Bakery

For those of you our there looking for a good vegan bakery, your search is ended at Maggie's Vegan Bakery on W.25 street in Cleveland, Ohio.  The business opened up in August of 2011 and is gaining popularity.  I bought a chocolate chip, cranberry, pineapple, nut cookie, a peanut butter chocolate brownie, and a zucchini muffin.  All I can say is I am impressed and Maggie's Bakery is on it's way to becoming a staple over in the Ohio City area.  Just walking distance from the West Side Market makes for a pleasant experience that's just minutes away.  Great way to satisfy the sweet tooth in you and it's healthy too.  There some links below to visit and see more about Maggie's place.

Project 10:10:10 – Pill or Perception?

While I haven't viewed this documentary entirely as of yet, I have read the synopsis.  I'm just a little excited at the prospect of sharing this information with everyone so I'm posting this article now.  This documentary delves into the concept that we, as humans, have way more control over our lives in terms of stress and illness, with our very own minds.  Our minds are gifts from God and can change the way we look at  the lives we live each day, in a way that can transform us.  So, take the journey, watch this documentary, and get a glimpse of the awesome power our minds have...

The myth of the eight-hour sleep

There have been many and widely varying opinions on sleep architecture.  While many of these opinions have somewhat become the standard school of thought in terms of our sleep architecture, this particular article puts things in perspective from a historical standpoint.  It delves into a little known fact that sleep wasn't always an eight hour experience.  This is a very good read and gives an alternative perspective on something we do every night when we close our eyes.

If You Take Oral Vitamin D You MUST Avoid Making This Serious Mistake

Contrary to popular belief, all vitamin D pills are not created equal.  Read this comprehensive article on vitamin D by Dr. Mercola and get informed on a vitamin that is crucial to our well being.

People who live in the north and north-east and north-west sections of the country should pay special attention to this.  We in the north experience winter and much of the sun gets blocked out that gives us our vitamin D.  Because of this it's good to get informed and be aware of the signs of vitamin D deficiency and how vitamin D is beneficial to many body functions.  I've also included links to sites that talk about vitamin D and how it works in the body, how deficient many of us are, and the symptoms of vitamin D deficiency.

$5 Gallon Gas Soon In Chicago, Other Cities

How possible this really is, I'm not sure.  However, there is at the very least a lot of chatter in the main stream and alternative media stream sources regarding oil prices.  Oil is currently at $105.79 as I type this sentence based on the on of the links below.  This is based on the ongoing oil embargo towards France and European Union nations.  Iran says it may extend the embargo to other cities in the EU as well.  It's getting a little dicey but an alternative opinions on this subject are not to be found, at least in my preliminary searches thus far.  Folks, if you have the money, try and fill up the old gas tank in your vehicle tonight if possible because a twenty cents increase is coming tomorrow at least for the south.  Whether this will truly affect the northeast section of the country is speculation for now at least.  I would however, fill up as often as possible while the prices are somewhat lower.  Please see the links below to get a little informed.

Cleveland celebrates Fat Tuesday and Paczki Day

It has long been a Polish tradition to have the calorie laden donut like dessert called the Paczki
on Fat Tuesday.  There are virtually every flavor or filling you can think of.  Although the prune, lemon, custard, cherry, and raspberry seem to be the most common.

As many of you already know the tradition started long ago as a Carnival Celebration beginning on or shortly after the Epiphany and is before Ash Wednesday.  Ash Wednesday is the beginning of the Lenten season and is a time when many Christians will symbolically give up or sacrifice something in prayer.  This has deep spiritual significance and is done to renew their commitment to baptism.

On a lighter note and in the tradition of Fat Tuesday I have bought my six pack of Paczkis in blueberry, cherry, and custard flavors.  Can't wait to taste one of those later on as they are waiting gently in the box on my kitchen counter top.  Wait, what's that?  I think I hear one calling now.  LOL

I will be taking part in the Lenten season by giving up beef and pizza; both of which aren't healthy for me anyway.  There are times when I really have a taste for both these foods so it will be a challenge.  However, I'm sure I will remain strong in my endeavor to sacrifice and give up these foods.  In parting I wish you all a Happy Fat Tuesday...

The Right to Roam

In a day and age where it becomes more and more important to establish rights for everyone, this documentary explores the rights of a people called the Roma.  With the establishment of the European Union and rights legislation, these people seek a place to live and thrive.  The majority of these people are originally from Romania and Bulgaria.  This documentary exposes the ins and outs of trying to find their way to a new and better life.  I encourage everyone to view this as it embodies the spirit of the right for all to exist and the right to make a way for themselves.

This article just in February 18th.  SIX TRILLION DOLLARS of fake bonds?!  Wow, can that be done on that massive of a scale without the operation being found out?  Hmmm.  Something seems fishy here and there is a school of thought that this story is just that; fishy.  This is interesting from the standpoint that at the beginning of the country's economic woes, there was 134 billion dollars confiscated at the Italian/Switzerland borders.  This occurred in 2009 and the U.S. Treasury seized the bonds and NEVER confirmed one way or the other that these bonds were real or fake.  Fox news via Glenn Beck tried to get confirmation several times to no avail.  I've attached the link to this article below and a link to the original 2009 Fox video reporting on the 134 billion in seized bonds.  I know what we're hearing from main stream media about the 6 trillion seized bonds but where would anyone get rid of such a massive amount of fake bonds?  Does something not seem right here or is it just me.  I ran across this little blurb at one of the alternative media sites that really try to get at truth instead of spinning news as we know the MSM can do so well.  "As with the May Flash Crash, and the $134 billion in "counterfeit" Bearer Bonds seized from two Japanese individuals who were attempting to smuggle them into Switzerland from Italy, this $6 Trillion in "fake" bonds story would be forced down the memory hole as well, were it not for the alternative media."

The Lightbulb Conspiracy - The Untold Story Of Planned Obsolescence

This is one of the best documentaries I've seen.  It gives an very interesting insight into why things are the way they are; at least from consumer and product standpoint.  I won't give it away because it's something see for ourselves and then make up our own minds.

Grammy Awards 2012: What was your favorite performance?

I guess the title of this article may be a bit misleading as I'm ready to give my opinion of the Grammy Awards show itself rather than solely my opinions of the performances.  I watched the Grammy Awards Show and all in all I'd give it a B.  I say this because, albeit there were some extremely good performances (i.e. Adelle, Sam Bruno, Taylor Swift, Tony Bennett, Jennifer Hudson, etc...), I think it fell short in terms of trying to have too much appeal to everyone.  Maybe I'm just getting older and don't appreciate some things.  However, the performance by Nikki Minaj, some Mickey Mouse glowing head acting like a DJ, and some others I can't remember, just left me shaking my head and wanting to turn the T.V. off and go to bed.  In addition to that the honoring of the recent deaths of Whitney Houston, Etta James, and not so recent Gil Scott Heron, fell far short in my estimation.  I think this show is WAY more about glitz and glamour than about REAL artistry and music.  Surly as stars of music we're going to have the glitz and glamour aspect to things but it's seems that it's becoming more and more the primary focus than what the Grammy Award  Show was created for in the first place.  So, is this just Grammy remorse I'm experiencing base on some contrived ideas of what I think the Grammy Award Show should be?  Hmmm.

Dorothy and the Witches of Oz

This looks as though it will be a great fantasy escape in the same vein as the original classic "The Wizard of Oz" with a twist on the story.  There's a slew of good actors including Christopher Lloyd.  Please see the trailer at the link below.

Nissan releases official footage of Juke-R supercar street race in Dubai

Check out this little Juke-R Super Car race some of the best super cars on the market.  Great stuff...  Was this a setup or was it a real race.  Either way kind of exciting to see this little thing race Lambo, Ferrari, and a Mercedes.  This Juke-R boasts a 480 hp Godzilla engine that seemed to be enough to overtake these cars.  Wonder what the cost of one of these things is?  Check it out...

Hyndai Has Come a Long Way

The Korean automobile manufacturer Hyundai has walked a tight rope of sorts in the beginning and several times though out it's existence.  It was first  introduced to American in 1985 via the Excel model.  I remember this particular car and model well because I have a sister who bought one brand new.  It was a five speed and the acceleration was sluggish at best.  The ride was hard and sloppy and the only redeeming quality I can think of, was that at least it beat walking to work.  Hyndai was so bad that the company faced the possibility of  bankruptcy as late as the year 2000.  Now take all of this into consideration when you realize what they've been able to accomplish in 2010 and 2011.  This was taken from Automotive News:  "Hyundai sales totaled 645,691 units in 2011, up 20 percent from the record set in 2010.  Hyundai's share of the market climbed a half a point to 5.1 percent.  The brand sold 50,765 in December for a 13 percent gain from December 2010".  It seems they are poised to do the same in 2012.  However, the U.S. and world economies could have an adverse impact on that happening.  The whole lineup has changed and become one of the most enjoyable, exciting cars to drive.  The company is giving the Japanese car makers a real run for their money.  Not just in new car sales but also in the certified pre-owned segment of the automobile market.  This is huge when you think about how Honda and Toyota have been the leaders for a very long time over their American competitors.  Saying all of this is difficult as it is becoming more and more important to by American products.  That being said, we must give credit where credit is due.  Hyndai has sustained itself and survived with a product that is sufficiently competitive in today's market.

US Forces GM Seeds into the Hands of European Famers

While I was compiling information and links for my last posted article on infertility and GMO foods, I ran across this little nugget recently happened.  This speaks to the text before the second link I posted in my following my last article.  Although this subject matter is looked at in one of my previous article postings, I feel it's important enough to bring up again.  This may funnel into a specifically titled blog to handle the GMO issues and how they affect all of our lives and the environment.  This is a must read.

Infertility and GMO foods

The link has been made compellingly made between Infertility in humans and GMO (Genetically Modified Organisms) or GMO food.  In addition, GMO foods have also affected the fertility of animals such as cows and pigs.  If GMO foods are affecting animals as well as humans, then that is a double whammy of sorts when it comes to humans.  The example would be that many of us eat meat (i.e. beef, pork, etc...) and then what the animal eats is transferred through the human digestive system.  Many people chose to walk away and ignore this increasingly malicious problem that is affecting the foods we eat.   However, none of these links I've posted put GMO food in a positive light.  We are getting closer and closer to a tipping point in our favor in terms of refusing to ingest these GMO foods.  This would be a victory on a grand scale against a world wide dominant corporation by the name of Monsanto.  It does require at least two actions on everyone's part though.  These actions are getting informed, and calling your representatives to tell them, that at the least, you want GMO food labeling so you can have free choice.  I've given four links to go to.  The first link is the one that addresses the fertility factor.  So read, get informed, and find out what you can do to reduce or eliminate your exposure to GMO foods.

http://www.fertilityfactor.com/could-genetically-modified-foods-be-responsible-for-your-infertility.html

US Embassies used Romania as Trojan horse to force GMOs into Europe - Wikileaks.  Although, this did happen, it was the food chains and food industry in the EU that ultimately refused GMO seeds and foods; not the government.  Now comes the US through the US Ambassador to France.  The US Ambassador through US policy and, in my estimation, prodding by Monsanto, are using military style trade tactics to force the GMOs on France and the rest of the EU.  Governments that carry out corporations wishes based on profit margins are not working for the people's interest.

Redbox teaming up with Verizon to stream movies

Well, the battles continue for video streaming.  Currently RedBox and Verizon are either in negotiations or have concluded negotiations with a plan that could possible unseat (Say it ain't so) Netflix.  Hmmm, Is that possible?  It's going to be interesting to see how things unfold in the coming months and years if this thing catches on.  It will be a subscription based service and we'll just have to wait to see how affordable it may be and how much content they will have.

Too Much Salt? Keep the Chips … Hold the Bread!

I read this article about the CDC saying that potato chips are better than bread now because of the salt content. My response was this.

Better yet, get rid of them both. The human body needs neither one of those to survive. Instead, use unprocessed sea salt with minerals already in it naturally. It's not salt that causes high blood pressure or is bad for it; it's processed salt that is bad for us. We need two teaspoons of salt per day for good blood flow. People are going to the ER for sodium deficiency and dehydration because of low salt and no salt products. Eat unprepared foods and add veggies and fruits to your diet. These studies promote the lesser of two evils. The FDA and the USDA are full of crap with the food pyramid. Start doing the research folks and don't listen to this main stream ideology that has gotten us in poor health in the first place. THINK FOR YOURSELVES and research the information. I'm just sayin...

In addition, I also responded with this.

Bottom line is the CDC, FDA, and USDA have known this for decades! It's not because of some epiphany or revelation due to some brand new study. What they do is create the problem and then provide a solution as a guise that they are really trying to help folks. I'm not gonna put them down completely because they do provide a service. However they go about it back asswards. In Europe they do study after study after study to make sure something is unequivocally safe before they let it out into the population. Our agencies however, let stuff out with minimal studies because profit is the name of the game. Once enough people get sick and/or die they then have meetings to see if it should be pulled off the market. What kind of logical sense does that make?! Now we have a U.S. Ambassador to France that is applying, with permission from the current U.S. administration, military style trade tactics to force GMO foods and seed from Monsanto on France and the European Union. What kind of government lets a corporation dictate how and what is done to one government by another?! Wake up people, things aren't what they seem to be. Study, research, listen to your own body, and quite eating the crap they are trying to shove down our throats. OK, I feel better now and I'm off my soap box. LOL What I say is the truth though. Please read the article at the link below and please comment...

Monsanto’s Roundup Triggers Over 40 Plant Diseases and Endangers Human and Animal Health

Monsanto has been a controversial corporation for the past three decades if not more.  It's mainly due to a product they invented and patented called "Roudup".  I will first state that I am NOT an expert in this area.  Although, I have done a fair amount of reading and research into Monsanto, GMO foods, Roudup, and many other related subjects.  That being said, and logically speaking, I don't see how this product Roundup can be so beneficial if plants, of any kind, have to be genetically modified just to accommodate the product and it's uses.  I was doing a little surfing and ran across this well written article by an author at The Institute for Responsible Technology.  This is a lengthy read so you may have to approach it in segments.  Nevertheless it's very informative and comprehensive.

CLOSE READING: The Saudis, A Twitter Investment, And The End Of Arab Spring?

An eye brow raising point of interest.  Ran across this one listening to a guy who administrates the site Whowhatwhy.com.  Prince Al-waleed has purchased $300 billion to get a piece of Twitter.  This is the same guy who purchased a substantial piece of FOX News as well.  Same guy who donated money to the Bush's shortly after 911.  It's all very interesting from a standpoint of contemplating what kind of a vehicle Twitter really is.  This article, at the link below, addresses much of this and the impact on Arab life and oppression in that country.  We may think none of world events affect us but nothing could be further from the truth...  All comments welcome...

What FACEBOOK and GOOGLE are Hiding from world.

This is at the very least, eyebrow raising.  Should these major players on the Internet be adjusting our searches under the guise of personalizing our experience.  On the surface, this seems perfectly innocent.  Though, should the filter bubble be utilized to affect what we're able to see and hear based on our queries and/or searches on the Internet through Google, Yahoo, and the like.  I'll admit that I don't know a lot about all of this.  The questions come to mind though.  Are we not capable of conducting our own searches and go where we want to go without intervention?  The thought that this is all about the money seems to be more and more the flavor of the day.  I mean, I and others pretty much always knew this but it's getting so saturated into our psyches that we start to see nothing wrong with it all.  Everything is balance and we need the tool that is the Internet to have that same balance.  Please leave comments.

Playing God

Say what you will about this documentary and the idea that something of a hybrid has been created with science.  There are compelling arguments on both sides of this debate.  I will remain neutral until I see some comments and I'll state my position then.  It's all very interesting but even the most open minded of us may have some reservations.  Please view the entire documentary before commenting.  I thank you and enjoy your moments...

Use This Superfood to Help Remove Mercury From Your Tissues in Weeks

This is an excellent and comprehensive article by Dr. Mercola on ridding the body of Mercury and other heavy metals.  Those with any immune based illness (i.e. MS, Parkinson's Disease, Lupus, etc...)  read if this "Super Food" will increase your symptoms with your immune based illness.  In addition, always, always, check with your primary physician and research before committing to taking even natural foods etc...

Using Color as Identification

We weren't called black, white, red, yellow, etc... until the 15 to 16 hundreds.  Where have we gotten the idea that we are the color that has been given us.  Black, white, red, yellow, brown, do not define us or say anything about our culture or how valuable we are all as human beings.  I ran across this little piece and whether it's right, wrong, or indifferent, I identify with it.

The River

A new series on ABC called "The River" looks to be a good view.  Steven Spielberg is at it again.  I'm no expert on whether a T.V. show is going to make it or not, that is for sure.  However, this particular show produced by Spielberg, looks to have the weight, story line, and supporting cast to be renewed by the network after it's first season is over.  So, check out the trailer and see what you think.

The Performance Rights Act

This is something I recently became aware of.  In the digital age things have changed immensely and piracy has apparently made a dent in profits of artists and the music industry on a whole.  Now comes "The Performance Rights Act".  The proposed performance tax could literally cripple local radio stations nationwide.  That being said, there is now counter legislation being proposed in form of  "The Local Radio Freedom Act".  Be a part of radio fans trying to keep radio strong.
